While driving under normal conditions, the ELocker electric locking differential performs as an open differential. If an obstacle is encountered – a rocky trail, muddy ditch or other challenge – the driver turns on a dash switch to activate the unit. The electromagnetic mechanism then locks, capturing 100% of the available torque and sending it equally to both wheels. A second flip of the switch deactivates the unit to resume normal driving.
Easy, push button operation, extremely high torque capacity, and compact designs (including for front wheel drive applications) make the ELocker a natural choice for an EV which needs full axle lock for obstacles and low-traction conditions. It can be easily integrated into the vehicle, with manual control and ECU logic (auto-locking) operation.
The ELocker electric locking differential is designed for high-performance applications including off-roading, trail riding, rock crawling and towing.
